Cannabis Warehouse is a B2B platform connecting Australian pharmacies with medicinal cannabis suppliers. Built at the intersection of healthcare compliance and supply chain logistics, the platform handles the full order lifecycle — from pharmacy purchase request through to supplier fulfilment — while managing the document and audit requirements that the medicinal cannabis industry demands. This is not a simple e-commerce build. Every transaction involves regulatory considerations, and the platform was designed from the ground up to enforce them without slowing down the people using it.
Problem
Medicinal cannabis in Australia operates in a highly regulated environment. Products require prescriptions, practitioners need verified access, and every transaction involving a patient needs an auditable record. The existing supply chain between pharmacies and suppliers was manual, paper-heavy, and prone to compliance gaps.
Cannabis Warehouse needed a platform that could automate the supply chain while making compliance automatic — not a checklist to work through, but a system that enforced the rules as part of normal operation.
Solution
We built a multi-party platform with distinct workflows for pharmacies, suppliers, and practitioners:
Pharmacy ordering: Pharmacies browse the product catalogue, place orders, and attach the required documentation at the point of order. The platform validates AP/SASB document requirements before an order can proceed.
Patient audit trail: For orders involving patient-specific products, the platform captures patient initials and date of birth. These records are stored against each transaction and available for audit.
Practitioner portal: Verified practitioners have dedicated access to educational materials and the full medicinal cannabis product database — including prescribing information, product specifications, and clinical resources. Access is gated and logged.
Supplier fulfilment: Suppliers receive orders with the full documentation chain attached. Fulfilment is tracked through the platform, with status updates flowing back to the originating pharmacy.
Integrations: The platform connects to Xero for financial management, Strongroom for cannabis-specific inventory compliance, and Cart for order processing.
Result
Cannabis Warehouse operates as a live platform connecting pharmacies and suppliers across Australia. The document compliance workflows have eliminated the manual back-and-forth that previously characterised the supply chain. Practitioner access has expanded engagement with educational content and product information.
The integration suite — Xero, Strongroom, Cart — means the platform sits at the centre of the business's operations rather than alongside them.
